Community Health Workers, Promotoras de Salud, Outreach Workers…there are so many titles to an individual whose main passion is to assist, advocate, and help. Whether in a healthcare setting or an organization that is dedicated to aiding underserved communities, you can depend on the Community Health Worker to get the job done. Here, we will illustrate how Certified Community Health Workers evolve within the CHI federally qualified health center and become the “go to” person to assist our patients in gaining access to healthcare by reducing barriers to care. Every encounter, whether in the centers (inreach) or in the community (outreach) is an opportunity to engage the client in more services. Through screening tools, the Community Health Worker addresses the Social Determinants of Health and holistically brings aid to the clients’ life.
FACHC’s Gentle Response Conflict De-escalation Training of Trainers (ToT) will take participants through dynamic, realistic scenarios to develop stress inoculation, muscle memory, and self-confidence to deal with difficult people, and prevent volatile situations from becoming critical violent incidents. The workshop is currently full.
